Ramji was the CEO of Counsyl, a genetic screening biotech company, from 2007-2018 before the company underwent a successful acquisition. He then went on to co-found another biotech company, Teiko.bio. Ramji shares his journey of dropping out of the MBA program at Stanford to pursue a career in startups, inspired by Paul Graham's book "Hackers and Painters." He reflects on the importance of leading from the front, making use of one's team, and pricing according to one's value. He also provides advice for entrepreneurs and innovators, including the need for mentors, coaches and domain expertise for a CEO in order to determine customer needs and build a successful team.
